What is CDE Sync™?
CDE Sync™ is a no-code platform that automatically syncs files, versions and metadata between common data environments such as Autodesk Forma, Bentley ProjectWise, Oracle Aconex and Procore. It runs on Microsoft Azure and replaces manual downloading and re-uploading between platforms.
How do I sync Bentley ProjectWise and Autodesk Forma?
Connect both platforms in the CDE Sync™ wizard, map the folders and metadata fields, then set the direction and schedule. Most teams are syncing within 15 to 30 minutes of starting the wizard.
Which CDE platforms does CDE Sync™ connect?
Autodesk Forma, BIM 360, Bentley ProjectWise, Oracle Aconex, Procore, Asite, InEight, 12d Synergy, Microsoft SharePoint, Trimble, Egnyte, Dalux, RIB, Azure Blob and network servers.
Does CDE Sync™ keep metadata and version history?
Yes. Metadata is translated between each platform’s schema, including ISO 19650, and revision histories stay consistent across every connected platform.
Do we need developers to set it up?
No. The wizard is built for document controllers and BIM coordinators. There are no scripts, virtual machines or on-premises software.
Can it sync two instances of the same platform?
Yes. Forma to Forma, Procore to Procore and cross-region hubs all work, as do syncs across more than two platforms at once.
Is CDE Sync™ secure?
Files stream between your CDEs and are never stored or cached by Utopia Digital. Utopia Digital holds SOC 2 Type II and Cyber Essentials, and the full security pack is available through the Security Trust Portal.

In the Azure region you choose, from more than 33 regions, so data stays in the country your project requires.
How is CDE Sync™ priced?
Two models, the CDE Project ID Model and the Enterprise Data Model. Both include unlimited users and unlimited syncs on 12, 24 or 36 month plans.
Can we buy CDE Sync™ through the Microsoft Marketplace?
Yes. Costs land on your Azure invoice, there is no new vendor onboarding, and eligible spend counts toward your MACC.
